Grilled Turkey Burger w/ Avocado Corn Relish



The turkey burger today was a big hit. We sold over 70 orders of it. It was a grilled turkey patty served on a wheat kaiser roll with baby arugula and an avocado corn relish. Sweet potato fries were also available as a side option.
Here's a recipe for the avocado corn relish:

Avocado Corn Relish
5 avocados peeled and diced medium
1/4 cup roasted corn kernals
1/4 cup diced roasted red bell peppers (you can find these canned in most grocery stores)
1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
3 tablespoons chopped cilantro
Salt to taste

Combine all ingredients in a bowl and chill for 30 minutes.

Winter Root Vegetables

We got some nice winter root vegetables in today from our produce company. Turnips, parsnips, and rainbow carrots will be making an appearance as one of tomorrows vegetable choices. We will be roasting them to give a nice txture and deeper flavor. Enjoy these while they are in season.

Chinese 5 Spiced Chicken

We have a Chinese 5 Spiced Chicken with wasabi mashed potatoes in the cafe today. The chicken is coated with Chinese 5 spice blend and olive oil. It is then roasted in the oven at about 350 degrees. Towards the end, we put the heat up to about 400 degrees to crisp the skin.

Fish Tacos

Fish tacos today in the cafe. Every Friday we do fish tacos. Lightly battered white fish on two corn tortillas, drizzled with some citrus cream and finished with shredded cabbages. Chips and our house made salsas come with.
